In nearly ideal late season weather conditions, the 22nd annual Arkansas-Oklahoma High School Cross Country All-Stars Meet saw the Oklahoma boys roll to the team win as the Arkansas girls won their race handily.
In the nine-scorer team competition, the Oklahoma boys placed all nine in the top 14 to win 72-115 and the Arkansas girls beat that with nine in the top 11 to win 56-141. Zack Blake (Sallisaw, Okla.) raced teammate Matt Young (Jenks, Okla.)

stride for stride for a photo finish win in a solid 15:58.69. Toler Freyaldenhoven (Conway, Ark.) led Arkansas with a third place finish in 16:06.10.
In the girls race, Elizabeth Gillette (Texarkana, Ark.) led the Arkansas barrage with the individual win in a strong 18:55.55 followed by Oklahoma’s Rilee Rigdon (Bartlesville, Okla.) in 19:08.20. Arkansas’ Josie Carson (Lake Hamilton) placed third in 19:19.69. Both races were over the 5,000 meters grass course at Rogers (Arkansas) High School.
This was the second consecutive year the meet was sponsored by Arvest Bank and each award winner received a unique commemorative medal. Over 100 of the best high school cross country runners from Arkansas and Oklahoma competed. Complete meet results can be found
